I was thoroughly amazed to note that the OSCPA endorsed Sherrod Brown for US Senate! You justify it with a parochially positive view of his voting record.

Brown is part of the liberal majority in the Senate doing everything they can to convert this nation into a European-style welfare state. He needs to be opposed. We cannot afford another 4 years of this.

Brown is already using this endorsement in his media appearances. As a 34 year member of the Society, I am embarrassed.

The only reason I do not rant on Linked-In and other social media is that it would only increase the exposure and shame of this endorsement.

This decision didn't surprise me. We live in an ever-shrinking and increasingly inter-linked world. For the complex issues and questions we face today, actions and answers have to be carefully thought through for the good of the whole...not just the good of the few who reside in the upper economic strata of our society. This requires unique skills and approach in a legislator and leader….when the pre-election strident rhetoric meets with Election day, the key question is whether in the “day after” you wake up knowing the type of leader and legislator you have in office or whether you are left wondering how this individual will really act and perform. And his ability to effectively work within Washington. With Sherrod Brown, you won’t wake up wondering--- he has a clear and proven track record as a legislator and leader.... and I believe he is best qualified to do well in representing Ohio and the needs of all constituents.
I believe the OSCPA process concluded rightly in endorsing Sherrod Brown for the Senate race…. I wasn’t surprised at it--- it makes a lot of sense and reflects a well-reasoned and realistic view of this Senate race and the choices available to the electorate in Ohio….and it reflects the sort of balanced and pragmatic approach the OSCPA in general has practiced well over time.

I was unaware the OSCPA supports ObamaCare, higher taxes for small business owners, EPA regulations that limit coal and natural gas production in Ohio and fiscal bankruptcy for the country. I thought the OSCPA supported business in Ohio. It appears the OSCPA is part of the problem instead of the solution. Whatever assistance he provided to the OSCPA in the past pales in comparison to his position on the major issues affecting our country.
